Pre-school education

Our Goal:
Educating preschool children about environmental protection and caring for nature, as well as developing key and digital competencies using ICT (Information and Communication Technology).

Issues related to environmental protection and climate change are becoming increasingly relevant and important for our future. That is why it is essential for children, starting from a young age, to develop the need to protect nature and the climate, gain knowledge on the subject, and understand how they can contribute to environmental conservation.

Preschoolers are very open to new information and easily absorb knowledge, which is why we teach them the right habits, understanding of climate protection, care for nature, and water resources from the earliest age. At the same time, this group of children is vulnerable to the formation of unhealthy habits resulting from the use of new technologies.

In our preschool projects, we implement educational programs that cultivate mindfulness towards nature and teach that technology is a tool, not an end in itself. By combining these two areas, children not only develop a natural awareness of their connection to nature, learn to regulate their emotions, but also acquire hard skills, allowing them to use digital tools to explore their surroundings and understand the processes occurring within it.

The program takes into account the individual development of children and, starting at the preschool level, develops skills (e.g., coding) that, when further developed in school education, will prepare children well for conscious social living and the future job market.

In our projects, we work with teachers to help them develop creativity, agency, self-confidence, logical and critical thinking, which are key factors for success in social life. We involve school management and local governments in preparing the space and its surroundings in a way that supports local education, experiential learning, and fieldwork.

We are introducing our proprietary program based on STEAM (science, technology, engineering, art, mathematics) into preschools, incorporating elements of design thinking, place-based learning, empathy work, digital education – including coding, and storytelling. The projects are process-oriented and last for at least one school year. At the same time, we provide the necessary materials, teaching aids, equipment, and infrastructure for these activities.

Project Summary: Young Nature Scientists from Puńsk Coding!
After over 1250 hours of lessons within the "Young Nature Scientists Coding" program, its current edition comes to an end. This extraordinary project, combining various disciplines such as nature, new technologies, music, and foreign languages in both learning and play, engaged preschoolers from the village of Puńsk at the Samorządowe Preschool with Polish and Lithuanian language instruction. The project involved a hundred children and five teachers, who also participated in additional training and earned, among other things, certificates of professional competence in teaching ICT (information and communication technologies) to preschool-aged children.

Preschoolers in Stary Folwark learn about modern technologies
Together with the local government of Suwałki Municipality, we invited preschoolers from Stary Folwark by Lake Wigry to... reach into the future. Modern technologies and methods for developing future competencies entered the Preschool Point and Preschool Department. During one school year 2019/2020, we raised the quality of the educational offer in preschool education for a group of 43 students.
